Title: Edo Govt commends FG’s education reform.

The Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Pius Odubu, who made this commendation while receiving the Hon. Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa'i, at the Government House, Benin, Edo State, said that investment in education is investment in human capital development, which is critical to national development.

Dr. Odubu also commended the Minister's commitment and determination at ensuring infrastructural development in the sector, especially at the tertiary institutions. He particularly expressed satisfaction with pace of infrastructural development at Auchi Polytechnic. This is even as he said that the Edo State Government will continue to partner with the Federal Government in the effort at developing the sector.

While speaking during the courtesy visit, Prof. Rufa'i said that she was in the State to commission the second campus of Auchi Polytechnic. She said that Auchi Polytechnic is one of the Polytechnics in the country that is developing rapidly, noting that the Rector, Dr. Philipa Idogho, is to be commended, as she is working in line with the Transformation Agenda, as concerns the education sector.

She said that in the last three years, government has geared efforts at developing infrastructures at the institutions to ensure that the right environment is provided for the students to acquire the right skills and knowledge.
