Sunshine Stars' technical adviser, Fatai Amoo has described his return to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side as home coming.
.
Amoo was unveiled on Monday in Akure to the public as the new technical adviser of the side to replace disengaged gaffer, Samuel Abimbola in a brief ceremony supervised by the side's technical committee head, Akin Akinbobola.
.
The stand-in coach, Napoleon Aluma was confirmed as the side's first-team coach while the assistant coaches will be named in due course. The new helmsman was specifically asked to win a continental ticket for the side in the ongoing 2012/13 NPFL season.
.
Amoo admitted that the new role is challenging but assured he is up to the task.
.
"This is home-coming for me. I hope to surpass my previous achievement at the side. My last tenure won the side the Wafu Cup and they've progressed beyond that level in the years gone by.
.
"It's a big challenge, there is no two ways about it but suffice it to say that I like it where the challenge is big and demanding.
.
"My job is well cut out. We have to push hard to better our lot on the log.
.
"As I said before it's a daunting task but not insurmountable. It's a good challenge for a side like Sunshine Stars to be demanding for a ticket at the continent.
.
"They've not severally been there but have actually done well, too. So I welcome the mandate with both hands and assure everybody that I'm equal to the task," said the former 3SC manager and Super Eagles assistant coach.
.
Amoo's first assignment will be this mid-week's NPFL Matchday 16 against Nasarawa United at the Akure Township Stadium. The Akure Gunners have garnered 21 points from a possible 45.
Sunshine Stars have done well with this one. The coach would definately improve the team. Kudos is all I can say.
