(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Minister-of-Labour-Productivity-at-MP-2013-001-300x192.jpg) About three hundred and ninety eight cases of trade disputes were resolved by the Ministry of Labour and Productivity in the last two years, just as 83% of the cases were resolved by May this year.
(http://fmi.gov.ng/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/P1020502-300x200.jpg)This was disclosed by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Emeka Wogu whilst giving the mid-term report of the present administration, at the on-going ministerial briefing in Abuja.
Wogu reported that his ministry was able to have a paradigm shift in industrial relations practice from adversarial trade unions-government relations to a developmental orientation.
He disclosed that skill acquisition centers have been established in strategic locations for the training of unemployed youths while child labour has been eliminated in line with International Labour Laws and practice.
The Minister also announced that the Michael Imodu Labour Institute at Ilorin, Kwara State has been upgraded to a Diploma awarding Institute to boost industrial relations and to improve the knowledge of labour practitioners.
Wogu further said that the Federal Government has been making frantic efforts to reduce the high level of unemployment among the youths, especially graduates, to the barest minimum.

He said, the Federal Government has made giant strides in the last two years, citing the return of rail transport and road networks in Nigeria.
