Colombia forward Brayan Perea was to undergo medical tests on Wednesday in Rome and become the first signing of Serie A side Lazio in the summer transfer window.
.
Local media reported that Perea, 20, arrived in the Italian capital late Tuesday to complete a transfer deal that his former club Deportivo Cali announced in February.
.
Lazio are said to have paid €2.5 million for the youth-team international.
.
The Rome side, who on May 26 secured a Europa League berth by beating Roma 1-0 in the Italian Cup final, appear close to welcoming Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia, 27, from Belgium side Anderlecht, and are keen on snatching Brazil forward Felipe Anderson, 20, from Santos.
.
City rivals Roma are reeling from the defeat in the final, which followed a disappointing league season, and seek a new coach to take over from Aurelio Andreazzoli, who replaced Zdenek Zeman in mid- season.
.
The Giallorossi failed to lure in Walter Mazzarri, who left Napoli for Inter Milan, and Massimiliano Allegri, who this week was confirmed at AC Milan.
.
They are now in negotiations to hire former French national team coach Laurent Blanc, who left Les Bleus last year.
.
Blanc, 47, is familiar with the Serie A, where he played with Napoli and Inter Milan, but Roma could also consider Rudi Garcia, another Frenchman who ended his contract at Lille, while talks with Roberto Mancini have also been rumoured after the Italian closed a four-year stint at Manchester City.
.
Napoli, meanwhile, quickly switched from Mazzarri to Spaniard Rafael Benitez after clinching second place behind Serie A champions Juventus.
.
Benitez left Chelsea after lifting the Europa League last month and looks to bring to Naples Barcelona's Javier Mascherano, a 28-year-old Argentine defender he coached while at Liverpool.
.
Most of Napoli's buying campaign, however, hinges on funds from the sale of striker Edinson Cavani.
.
The Uruguayan was the Serie A top scorer on 29 goals this year, improving tallies of 26 and 23 in his two previous seasons in Naples.
