Title: Crisis: Oyo ACN hails police for quizzing Ladoja
Post by: Mirror on Jun 07, 2013, 08:31 PM
The Oyo State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) yesterday praised the police for quizzing former Governor Rashidi Ladoja over the crisis that erupted at the recent Accord Party activity.

ACN said quizzing the former governor would enable the police to unveil the perpetrators of the crisis.

In a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, the party Publicity Secretary, Mr. Dauda Kolawole, commended the police for probing the crisis.

The ACN lauded the police for not looking at personalities in investigating the violence, stating that the probe would avail them the opportunity to get to the roots of the mayhem.

But the Accord Party denied that Ladoja was quizzed, describing the claim as a figment of imagination.

Ladoja's media aide, Mr. Lanre Latinwo, said the former governor was at the state CID headquarters to honour the invitation of the police boss who had earlier invited him for a brief meeting.

It will be recalled that Ladoja petitioned President Goodluck Jonathan, demanding the proscription of the state anti-crime outfit popularly called "Operation Burst," alleging that the outfit was established to unleash mayhem on his supporters and members of his party.

Policemen in Nigeria are really improving and that's a very good thing. I hope things would improve more so we'll have a good force.
