Re-instated female law maker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon. Rifkatu Samson Danna, representing Bogoro constituency has demanded an unreserved apology from the house for rejecting the court order that reinstated her to the house.
A Bauchi state High Court had ordered the reinstatement of the female lawmaker after she was suspended by the Assembly in June last year. The court also ordered that she should be paid all her entitlements with immediate effect.
The presiding judge, Chief Justice Ibrahim Mohammed Zango, while delivering judgment said the indefinite suspension of the only female lawmaker in the state was illegal, unconstitutional and beyond the powers of House.
Hon. Danna while briefing newsmen in her Bauchi residence said the action of the house to have rejected the court order is a slap on democracy and the rule of law.
She wondered why her contributions against the relocation of Tafawa-Balewa council headquarters to Bununu engineered the whole problem.
