Chairman of the committee, Kabiru Taminu Turaki while speaking in Jos in Plateau state during the committee's interactive session observed that the prohibition of Jamā'a ahl al-Sunnah Li-da'wa Wa al-Jihād, known as Boko Haram will in no way affect the activities and objectives of the committee as discussions and dialogue are ongoing. The committee visited worship centers and scenes of bomb blasts in the state as well as held more interactive sessions with affected communities and traditional rulers.  The Gbong Gwom Jos and Chairman Plateau state traditional council, His Majesty, Gyang Jacob Buba, observed that criminality has crept into religion as many preachers of both Islam and Christianity have abused the freedom of expression through incisive statements. The Presidential committee on dialogue and peaceful resolution of security challenges in the north with the mandate to constructively engage key members of the Boko Haram and define comprehensive and workable framework for resolving the crisis of insecurity in the country among others has been visiting various states where security challenges have been prevalent with the latest call in Jos, north central Nigeria.
