Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer

Job Summary: – This role will provide concept, FEED and detailed design services for electrical power systems of both onshore and offshore Oil & Gas facilities. – It will generally involve the specification, design, calculation and requisition of electrical equipment and comprehensive analysis of electrical designs to ensure inherently safe systems. Design positions generally involve space modelling of electrical equipment and cable management, draughting and calculation of material quantities and weights.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract.
• Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
• Maintain the required technical quality of work.
• Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
• Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes.
• Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
• Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
• Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope.
• Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or any other Engineering course. M.Sc Preferred.
• Minimum 15years in Oil & Gas industry of which 8 years on offshore design.
• Minimum 3 years in the similar position in an engineering or EPIC organization.
• Membership of COREN is an added advantage
• Relevant exposure to Consultancy, FEED/ Detailed Design and EPC projects
• Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes
• In depth knowledge of standard international specifications and codes.
• Knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures.
• Excellent coordination, monitoring and supervisory skills.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Planning and forecasting ability.
• Analytical and problem solving mind set
