An Abuja Federal High Court, yesterday ordered the Federal Government to produce the three Lebanese owners of Amigo Supermarket and their Nigerian associate before it on Thursday, June 13.
The businessmen, who are being held over allegations of keeping illegal armoury and running Hezbollah terror cell in Bompai, Kano State are Abdalah Tahini, Talal Rouda, Khosai Nouridine and Mustapha Fawaz
The trial judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola specifically directed his order to the State Security Service, SSS, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, and the Attorney-General of the Federation who played one role or the other in their arrest and detention
He gave the order while ruling on an ex-parte application brought by the applicants yesterday. The ex-parte application was argued by Chief Robert Clarke, SAN, leading Ahmed Raja, SAN, and 12 others.
The suspects had last week sued the three defendants, challenging their arrest and continued detention.
They also faulted the closure of their business premises by security agents, even as they demanded public apology from the defendants, to be published in three national dailies and N50billion compensation.
After listening to Chief Clarke's argument, the judge ordered as follows: "That an order is hereby made directing the respondents, particularly the 1st and 2nd respondents, to produce the applicants in court on June 13, 2013.
"That it is further ordered that the applicants motion on notice dated the 3rd day of June, 2013 already served on the respondents is fixed for June 13 for hearing."
