Title: Hamilton Tasks Super Eagles Over Namibia
Post by: Folami David on Jun 11, 2013, 10:17 PM
Former Nigerian manager, Paul Hamilton has charged the Super Eagles to show no mercy to their Namibian opponents, the Brave Warriors, in a 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying game at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, Windhoek on Wednesday.
.
The Eagles will go into the encounter as group leaders on eight points against their opponents, who have four points.
.
Hamilton said the African champions should go into the game with same urgency they prosecuted last Wednesday's crunch tie against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in Kasarani.
.
"The Super Eagles must remain focused and not be complacent but treat the game against Namibia with same attitude they handled the Kenyan game.
.
"They should be committed and see the game as cup final, I'm positive the Eagles will win convincingly.
.
"I don't want to believe the Namibians will pose a hard nut to crack or turn out to be as stubborn as the Kenyans but we must not take anything for chance rather go all out to win. Victory will take us closer to qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil next year," said the former Super Falcons coach.
.
The former Nigerian star said the Eagles should consider as nothing the purported resignation of the Namibia head coach, Roger Palmgren as far as the World Cup qualifier is concerned.
.
"The Eagles should go ahead with their preparations for the game as if nothing happened.
.
"The alleged resignation could be a dirty ploy to distract the Nigerian side and they must not fall for it.
.
"The resignation is inconsequential as the game will go ahead as scheduled," he said.
.
Victory will give the Eagles 11 points and may make the last qualifying game against the Flames of Malawi in Nigeria insignificant should Malawi fail to produce a good result against Kenya in Blantyre on Wednesday.
