PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordination
The Sales Manager is responsible for coordinating with the ASM/HOD (Area Sales Manager/Head of Department), retailers, sales coordinator in getting the sales orders, getting the goods delivered, ensuring the required cash is being deposited in the banks and credit limits have been adhered to.
Responsible for the re-conciliation of the accounts with the customers.
He needs track sales on a daily basis versus plan versus action and results.
Monitor the expenses per market and provide feedback.
Distribution / Handling
Distribution expansion plan should be done by Sales Manager at the beginning of the month in consultation with Area Sales Manager/HOD
Productivity / Price
Sales Manager should carry out market price survey with the sales representatives and advice the HOD on the price changes. Thus helping in increasing the sales margins.
The Sales Manager should monitor the team's target for the day, week and month. He should also compare both previous market trend and current and proffer solutions to increase productivity
Visibility
The Sales Manager needs to provide feedback to ASM/HOD on additional actions/ideas to be taken to increase the visibility of the products.
Relationship in Market
Sales Manager must manage relationships effectively and increase the sales volume as per company norms.
Bare minimum the Sales Manager should know the key decision makers in the A class and Top B class retailers.
Reporting and Feedback
Sales Manager needs to gather all information which needs to come in the system from ground from his Sales representatives .
Reporting should be carried out on Daily FS / TS / Distribution / Market Feed Back / Competitor activities, weekly sales report – category wise and monthly MIS
Other Responsibilities
Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
Provide on-the-job training to new sales employee
