Three-time Nigeria 100m champion,ObinnaMetu and reigning African 400m hurdles queen,Muizat Ajoke Odumosu failed to shine last night at the IAAF World Challenge de Dakar,one of the four premium events in the African Athletic Tour calendar.

Metu ran a new personal season's best time of 10.29 seconds to place sixth in the 100m won by 2003 World Champion,Kim Collins while in the 200m,the Nigerian also ran a new personal season's best (20.80) to place fourth.The race was won by Lesotho's Lehata Mosito (20.55 seconds).

In the women's 400m barrier run,Odumosu,the 2012 London Olympics finalist ran 56.61 seconds to place second behind Ukraine's Titimeta Hanna who ran 56.33 seconds.

Last week at the Meeting International Mohammed VI in Rabat,Morocco,Odumosu ran 56.08 seconds to place third at the meeting.She has a personal season's best of 55.73 seconds.

In the women's 400m,the duo of Abogunloko Bukola (53.10) and Omolara Omotosho (53.37) came second and third behind Jamaica's Patricia Hall (52.23).

The trio are scheduled to meet tomorrow in Warri at the third leg of the CAA Golden Events series tagged the Warri Relays/CAA Grand Prix.

In the hammer throw,Queen Obisesan placed sixth with a throw of 60.78m,almost four centimetre below the 63.79m new national record she set at the fourth leg of the SolidWorks/AFN Golden League Meet held at the Sports Complex of the University of Ilorin, Kwara State early this month.
