Super Eagles appear to have adopted a maxim which says that a man who fights and runs away lives to fight again in their quest for higher match bonuses.
Standing-in captain and goalkeeper of the team, Vincent Enyeama, told international media in Belo Horizonte that the battle would resume after the Confederations Cup.
"I don't like to discuss the issue", he began when the expected question on the bonus war which almost disrupted the organisation of the Confederation Cup, was thrown at him.
"This issue ought not to have gone out to the press. "We thought we could manage it internally, but it has exploded. Anyway, the issue has not been resolved.
We are coming back to it after this competition", he remarked. A correspondent had thrown the question at him, pointing out that the Super Eagles had not only given a bad image to Nigeria, but also to Africa which they are representing in Brazil.
Both Coach Keshi and Enyeama did not see it that way. Keshi remarked that it depended on the way anyone was looking at the issue. He, however, said that his team had come to Brazil to make Africa proud.
Enyeama said that the players just resolved to put the issue of bonus behind them for now and move on. "We are responsible for our action and shall revisit the issue after the Confederations Cup".
