Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas has stoked the fire with rivals Real Madrid by insisting they would be 'foolish' to bid £100million for Gareth Bale.
Bale's future has dominated much of the summer so far, with Madrid believe to be leading PSG, Bayern Munich and Manchester United in the race for his signature.
Spurs are likely to part with the Welshman if a big bid arrives, and Madrid admitted earlier this month they would be prepared to offer £100million to get their man.
But according to Barca star Fabregas, they would be 'foolish' to do so.
'For me spending £100million on Gareth Bale is foolish, I don't know how any club could spend that amount of money in these circumstances,' he said.
I think the money is just too much for a player like Gareth Bale. I just feel Tottenham does not want to sell him off....
