The leader of the joint merger committee of opposition parties, Tom Ikimi, has disclosed that the committee would submit its final report to the caucuses of their various parties yesterday, as a step towards concluding the merging process of the ACN, ANPP, CPC and APGA faction into All Progressive Congress (APC).

Briefing journalists yesterday in Abuja after a meeting of the joint merger committee, Ikimi said there would be caucus meetings last night for the various opposition parties in the merger, explaining that it is at the meeting that the final report would be submitted.

He also explained that the major issue discussed at the meeting of joint merger committee was issues that would ensure that every opposition party in the merger are carried along, adding that they have worked out various options which they want to take to the caucuses.

According to him, "this evening there will be caucus meeting of the merging parties.

"We have worked out various options which we want to take to the caucuses, we will meet with the leadership in our caucuses and finalize these matters."

"We have put in various structures to ensure that all the merging parties are taking along, and this we will discuss tonight.

"Every party has its own operandi."

At this point, he disclosed that since there is no time again to unveil the interim leadership of the mega party, in few days to come, it would be made public who occupy which position."

While giving update on the ongoing registration process of the APC, he said that that application has been sent to INEC, and that INEC has replied, in addition to forms which would be completed by the party and then sent back to INEC.

According to him, the form requires the names of the members of the interim leadership, saying this would be taken to the leadership of the party.

"I cannot give you any further update on what you know. Application has been put, INEC has replied, and some forms have been given to the parties to complete, and these forms to complete is to have the names of the interim national officers. On the submission of names we shall discuss it with the leadership of our parties and all these issues will be resolved."
