Daihatsu Flexes Its Muscle in Indonesia. The Japanese automaker, which is Indonesia's largest vehicle manufacturer, is expanding its presence in this rapidly growing post-BRIC market of nearly 250 million people. Daihatsu just broke ground on a new car assembly plant outside Jakarta. The new plant will give the company the capacity to build half a million cars a year in Indonesia.
