Title: Italy's Prandelli Considers Changes
Post by: Folami David on Jun 19, 2013, 07:46 AM
Italy's coach Cesare Prandelli is contemplating changes in the team for Wednesday's Confederations Cup match against Japan.
.
Prandelli said he awaited the last training session, to see "who has recovered and who is doing well" after Sunday's match against Mexico, which the Azzurri won 2-1.
.
"How many changes I could make? I cannot say that now. Two, three or four, because we've made a lot of effort," Prandelli said Tuesday in Recife.
.
He defined Japan as "a dangerous team with a great coach," a reference to Italian manager Alberto Zaccheroni.
.
"What I fear about them is their tactical organisation, which is different from what it was in the past and in which you see the hand of someone like Zaccheroni," he said.
.
"Japanese players have a great ability to concentrate and stay focused," Prandelli noted.
.
Prandelli noted that his men are doing well, although they should be more precise with their shots on goal.
.
He also referred to Italy's often wayward star Mario Balotelli, who appears relatively calm with the national team.
.
"He has great motivation, and the blue shirt evokes just that. And then he has found a group of players who still have the will to win and they help him,"
Prandelli said.
.
"Mario has extraordinary potential. We are trying to get him to reach the best possible condition, and then he has to make his own contribution," he said.
.
Italy's bus needed 90 minutes to cover the 25- kilometres stretch between the team hotel on the beach in Recife and the Arena Pernambuco.
.
Prandelli's press conference was delayed half an hour.

I feel Italy is pretty much okay the way they are right now so I do not think any change is needed in the team just yet.
