Our client, News24 requires an experience editor with a passion for news and the digital media, to work on an online news product for the Nigerian market. The position is based in Lagos.
Job Outputs:
• Generating and writing of news stories
• Editing and publishing of content
• Excellent language skills (English).
• Knowledge of Pidgin English will be an advantage
• Curating and aggregating content
• Liaising with users and building a vibrant online community
• Oversees content offering on all sections
• Takes responsibility for quality of content and general appearance of these sections
• Manage a team of content producers in Lagos, ensuring that a superior quality product is attained at all times.
• Closely work with the Managing Editor of News24 based in Cape Town, South Africa to attain goals set out by management.
• Working knowledge of measurement tools such as Google Analytics to monitor site activity and growth.
• Savvy internet user with experience using social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus for work purposes.
• Excellent leadership skills and the ability to lead a team of content producers.
• Must be prepared to work overtime and outside of normal working hours.
