Title: Peace’ll soon return to APGA – Reconciliation committee
Post by: Mirror on Jun 21, 2013, 02:31 PM
The Chairman of the Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Reagan Ufomba, has assured that peace will soon return to the party.

Speaking with journalists yesterday in Lagos, Ufomba said the ongoing reconciliation will make APGA stronger.

Ufomba said: "We have been going round the country and meeting with the various stakeholders. We have met with Chief Victor Umeh, the national deputy leader, Governor Peter Obi, and Ralph Nwazuruike, and we are in contact with Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu. We are in search of unity in our party. In the end, we will have a united, cohesive, peaceful and progressive APGA.

"We have talked to the aggrieved and they are opening up. A problem known is half solved. We are meeting with Chief Martins Agbaso and his brother, the former deputy governor of Imo State, Jude. Umeh has a reconciliation committee too. It doesn't matter the number of committees, but our objective is peace."

He, however, admitted that the reconciliation is a tough mission but worthwhile as stakeholders in the party are desirous of peace.

Ufomba said that his committee has met with several stakeholders in the party since the committee was set up in the last three weeks, saying from the aggregate views of members, both legal and political solutions would be applied to restore peace to the party.

"We will see the Imo State governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, later. We do not expect an automatic answer on concession from Chief Umeh. Reconciliation is a tough mission and there will be legal and political solutions. We must know that there is a party, a party leadership and party supremacy."
