Job Title: Analyst, Accounts

Division/Department: Finance and Management Services

Employer: Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC)

Sector: Power

Job Summary: The Analyst, Accounts is responsible for maintaining financial and accounting support in the unit. The job holder reports to the Manager Accounts

Key Responsibilities:

1.   Ensures that monthly bank statements are collected from banks

2.   Processes contracts Payments

3.   Processes payment for vehicle maintenance and all other admin expenses

4.   Prepares and posts Payment Vouchers and journals

5.   Sends all vouchers processed raise for scheduling to AGM (F&A) and Internal Audit for pre-payment auditing

6.   Checks all vouchers for scheduling, have internal Audit approval before scheduling for payment

7.   Prepares payment schedules to banks inspect of all payment and ensure that they are timely delivered to the banks

8.   Receives all in coming cheques and issue receipts

Person Specification:

Required Knowledge and Skills:

The ideal person for this position must be/possess:

1.   Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and others at all levels in the organization

2.   Rigorous attention to detail

3.   Numerate and analytical

4.   Proficient in the use of the computer, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

5.   Good record keeping skills

Educational / Professional Qualification(s):

1.   Must be a graduate of accounting / financial management

2.   Professional qualification will be an added advantage

Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years post-graduation, with relevant experience in a reputable organization
