Job Summary: The Manager, Human Resources under general direction, advises management and staff on human resources-related issues and develops/coordinates departmental human resources policies and procedures. The job holder reports to Assistant General Manager Human Resources
Key Responsibilities:
Directly responsible for the implementation of the following HR tasks and functions as approved:
• Recruitment, Training and Retirement.
• Promotion
• Position classification and grading
• Payroll Administration
• Performance appraisal review and processing
• Personnel data entry and records maintenance
• Pension Administration
• Staff welfare
• Training
Person Specification:
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Strong people management skills
• Interviewing skills
• Knowledge of performance review methods and techniques in a performance-based organization
• Experienced with staff training, development and recognition programs
• Able to maintain confidentiality
• Good Supervisory skills
• Good Team building skills
• Good Problem solving skills
• Proficient IT skills including the ability to operate spreadsheets and word-processing programs
• Effective written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports, policies and procedures, as well as effective verbal and listening communications skills
Educational Background:
• A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, or a closely related field
• Additional professional qualifications/higher degrees will be added advantage
Work Experience: Minimum 9 years post qualification experience, 5 of which should have been in a reputable organization, performing Human Resources generalist function.
