Job summary: The Analyst Rural Electrification will provide research and administrative support to the Unit. The job holder reports to the Manager Renewable Energy and Rural Electrification
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assists in the development of appropriate linkages between NERC and the Rural Electrification Agency (REA)
2. Assists in the development of appropriate regulatory instruments for rural electrification such as rural electrification construction and equipment standards
3. Assists in development of frameworks for power generation by rural co-operatives/communities
4. Participates in the studies on the introduction of new and emerging technologies into the electricity supply system and the methodologies for the introduction of such technologies to supply power to remote rural communities
Person Specification:
Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. A good understanding of the Commission's mandate and the electricity sector in Nigeria
2. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
3. Fair knowledge of renewable energy market and conversant with rural electrification issues
4. Excellent interpersonal skills
5. Strong written and oral communication skills
6. Demonstrated ability to respond quickly to assist with problem resolution
7. Proven ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at multiple management and business unit levels and locations
8. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities
9. Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office packages
Educational / Professional Qualification(s):
1. A first degree in Economics, Political Science, Law, Administration, Engineering or related discipline
2. A Master's degree or professional qualification in a relevant field is added advantage
Work Experience: Minimum of 4 years post qualification experience
