Post by: SunNews on Jun 23, 2013, 11:31 AM
The boss of Abuja-based record company, Blackwall Street, Mr. Suni, had cause to thank God for saving his life penultimate Wednesday as he was attacked by dare devil armed robbers while traveling from Lagos to Ondo State.

Suni, who just came back from the United States and who recently signed onto his label fast rising Afropop singer, Klever Jay, was early in the morning of that day traveling to Ondo State in his brand new silver coloured Mercedes Benz GLK 2013 model when he fell victim of armed robbery.

According to Suni, he was approaching Osu near Ilesa, Osun State when he ran into a tyre rim thrown on the road by the robbers. He narrated thus: "At first, I didn't know I was a target of some armed robbers. I thought I had run over a stone or something that gave me a flat tire. So, I parked and came out of the car only to discover that it was a tyre rim. Before I knew what was happening, a man jumped out of the bush and attacked me with a cutlass. As I was struggling with him, I saw some hefty men rushing towards me and firing gunshots at me at the same time.

"My body was covered with blood and I had to run for my life. I ran into the bush and they pursued me, combing everywhere and looking for me. I would have been dead but God saved me. I was hiding in the bush from around 8am when the incident happened till like 4pm when the police came to the scene and rescued me. I want to use this opportunity to thank the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Doherty Gimba, Area Commander, Ife, Mr. Abdukadiri, Area Commander, Ilesa, Mr. Olukolu Shina and Osun State CID boss, Mr. Mohammed Jimoh for the role they played in saving my life."

Meanwhile, police have arrested the robbers and Suni is right now in the United States where he is receiving medical attention.
