Job summary: The Assistant General Manager, Distribution Standards and Compliance will work with the Deputy General Manager Transmission and Distribution Regulation to ensure optimal delivery of services on electricity networks by licensed operators.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develops and supervises processes and procedures for Technical Codes, Regulations, Manuals for licensed distribution operators
2. Conducts inspections, tests and certifications on distribution operators
3. Provides non-compliant operators and works with the enforcement team to ensure enforcement
4. Addresses hiccups; manages likely barriers and mitigate possible risks
5. Builds and leads an effective and cohesive team of Engineers
Person Specification:
Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. A good understanding of the Commission's mandate
2. Good leadership skills: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
3. Grounded knowledge of electricity distribution and its challenges in Nigeria and compliance management
4. Competent in strategic planning and implementation
5. Adept in the use of the computer, especially Microsoft Office suite
6. Technical skills in engineering
7. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Educational / Professional Qualifications(s):
1. An Engineering degree from a recognized institution
2. Must be COREN registered
3. A higher degree in Power Engineering is an advantage
Work Experience: Minimum of 18 years post-graduate cognate experience with at least 4 years of which must have been in a management position
