Notable leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church (Worldwide), on Sunday, agreed on the need for the church to remain united when they gathered in Ikare Akoko, Ondo State, hometown of the founder of the church, the late Moses Orimolade.
The church, which was registered in 1925 disintegrated in 1930 when it was enmeshed in leadership crisis in Lagos. The founder died 80 years ago.
The visit of the recently-inaugurated Ondo State President of the Unification of Cherubim and Seraphim Churches, Primate Adeoye Ademisokun-Turton, and other top clerics of the church to the home of Orimolade on Sunday was adjudged the first of its kind by elders of the church.
The clerics who gathered at the Oke-Igbala general headquarters of the church promised to work for the unity and growth of the white-garment wearing church.
Ademisokun-Turton, who was accompanied by his Deputy and Vice Presidents in the three senatorial districts of the state, said the overwhelming reception given to his entourage was a clear indication that the church was set to reclaim its lost glory.
The primate said his team was ready for the task ahead, promising not to be deterred by critics and the utterances of "some enemies of progress" that might want to continue the old order of indiscipline in the church.
He said, "I am not unaware of the task ahead of my team and the white garment church worldwide to restore the past glory of the church by injecting discipline into the affairs of the unification in the state.
"I therefore appeal to the leaders of the church around the globe to join hands with the unification in celebrating the 80 years remembrance of the late Orimolade later in the year."
