Our client is a global group of energy and petrochemical companies. Employing over 100,000 personnel in around 90 countries their strategy is to reinforce their position as a leader in the Oil & Gas industry.

They are currently recruiting for the position of Project Engineer – Electrical & Instrument, based in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Job Description:

•   Provide internal and external interface management for The Project Team. The Project is split into three sub-projects i.e. Drilling, Offshore and Onshore. Externally Project shares interfaces with OGGS and EA, as well as some Asset Owners like the Western Swamp Area team, the Pipeline Team, the Forcados Terminal Team, etc.

•   Carry out a Risk Assessment exercise for the Project Construction Phase and implement recommendations

•   Establish and manage all Project interfaces (stakeholders and interdisciplinary)

•   Systems Integration

•   Plan and Execute all requisite HEMP activities for the Project

•   Draw up an Interdisciplinary Interface Matrix for the EPIC's and Drilling activities and monitor compliance

•   Pursue/manage all statutory approval requirements

•   Arrange and Co-ordinate the NAPIMS Quarterly Management Reviews

•   Take part in Discipline activities in the Client’s Technical and Operational Excellence Forums and Surface Global Networks to exchange knowledge, share best practice and improve global health of the discipline within EP. Develop own skills and competence in line with changing business needs and technical advances in discipline. Evaluate and capture new knowledge and learning. Coach and mentor subordinates and ensure that all members of the team have personal development plans and also receive coaching and mentoring.

Skills & Experience:

•   University degree in the mechanical, chemical, production or electrical engineering discipline

•   Considerable working experience in the oil/gas exploration and production business.

•   Possess a seasoned professional experience in interface management and risk assessment/management. A project management experience could be an added advantage.

•   Be conversant with Company and International Standards.

•   Knowledge of Nigerian and SPDC engineering and HSE standards would be beneficial

•   A working knowledge of Process, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Instruments enough to be able to identify project be beneficial whilst man management, interpersonal, communication and organising skills in a multi-cultural environment are required

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
