The Methodist Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Rt. Rev. Godfrey Agupusi, yesterday commented on the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the country, urging President Goodluck Jonathan to be mindful of the crisis and look for a way of resolving it.
He said without peace in the PDP and in the country in general, the party may not make it in the 2015 elections, adding that 'otherwise the All Progressives Congress, APC, may over take them in the election.
Speaking with National Mirror in Abakaliki, the cleric called on President Jonathan to see reasons to make peace and reconcile the Nigerian Governor's Forum, NGF, stressing that if the crisis in the PDP continues, it will endanger the lives of innocent Nigerians ahead of the general elections.
The bishop said Nigeria is a nation endowed with great natural resources but that it is unfortunate that the country have not had good leadership just as he frowned at the attempt by the Boko Harm sect to Islamise the country.
He said: "I think President Jonathan should continue to strive to make peace just as he did when he declared a state of emergency in the three northern states troubled by the Boko Haram menace. People criticize him, but that shows how magnanimous, how patriotic, how peace loving he is, which everybody should acknowledge.
Bishop Agupusi cautioned politicians to desist from committing fraud and other related crimes that would put the nation to shame, adding that politicians should exercise patience.
