Uruguay are looking forward to playing Brazil in Wednesday's Confederations Cup semifinals, despite knowing that the hosts are the favourites in the match.
.
"Brazil are yet to play a team with Uruguay's attack," Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez said Tuesday in Belo Horizonte.
.
Tabarez and his men know that Brazil are football giants and will be playing at home.
.
"Everything about Brazil worries us. They have a very attack-oriented approach. They try to prevent that attacking approach from having consequences in defence," the coach said. "They have had overwhelming starts to their matches."
.
Tabarez stressed that anything can happen on a football pitch.
.
"We have great confidence in our attitude," he said.
.
"The match against Brazil is as difficult as it is motivating. This is not just any match."
.
Tabarez noted that his men are "very stubborn" on the pitch, though they respect their rivals.
.
"Football is a group sport in which the weaker side always stands a chance," he said. "And we don't feel that weak."
.
Captain Diego Lugano agreed.
.
"We have the right to dream," he said. "Uruguay's history shows that we have won many games in extreme, important circumstances. This group has huge commitment and respect for our shirt."
.
When asked about a new characteristic for Brazil, with many tactical midfield fouls, Lugano, a rugged defender himself, made reporters smile with his quick-witted reply.
.
"The fouls that Neymar feigns worry me a lot more than the fouls that Brazil may commit," he said. "He deceives referees and rivals very easily."
.
Still, Lugano referred to Brazil's rising star as a world-class footballer.
No matter what Uruguay brings to the table I sincerely believe Brazil would beat them black and blue. Neymar is better than both Suarez and Cavani.
