The Flying Eagles will have their fate decided in today's make or break final group game against Korea Republic at the Ali Sami Yen Arena in Istanbul.
.
The South Koreans only scraped a narrow victory over Cuba, but managed to hold Portugal to a drawgiving them a total of four points and second spot on the table while Nigeria eased past Cuba but lost against the Portuguese, garnering three points in the process and third spot on the table.
.
The last meeting between these two was in the group phase at the Netherlands 2005, where Korea Republic emerged 2-1 winners.
.
Captain,Abdul Ajagun who just happens to be his side's leading marksman with three goals and the competition's joint-top scorer is however confident of a safe flight into the next round. "It won't be easy but we're intent on making progress," he said. "And to do that we need to score more goals."
.
Ajagun may be hinging is belief on the fact that the Flying Eagles have scored at least one goal in each of their last nine FIFA U-20 World Cup games.
.
Having netted a total of 27 times in that period, averaging three goals per game, the South Koreans will need to be on their guard.
