Job Title: Engineering Manager

Our client is a leading global brewery and bottling company spread across the world with recent presence in Nigeria. Due to internal expansion processes in their Nigerian office, they have decided to hire an Engineering Manager.
INTERNAL CONTACTS: Plant manager, Brewing Manager, Packaging Manager, Packaging Engineer, Brewing and Utilities Engineers, Maintenance Controllers and Planners, Quality Assurance Manager, Site services Engineer, Chief Engineer and HR Manager
EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Suppliers, Contractors, OEM's, local authorities and HUB Consultants
ROLE SUMMARY: To ensure optimum utilisation of plant through effective asset care, in a safe work environment, to produce quality product at minimum cost which meets customer requirements while complying with legislation.

DECISION MAKING POWERS AND AUTHORITIES:
This person is authorised to:
• Allow plant modifications within allowed procedures
• Reject modifications which do not meet the company or engineering standards or compromise the safe operation of machinery.
• Stop any machine on the site should an acute malfunction occur or that safety is being compromised. If the stoppage is longer than 30 minutes, the Engineering Manager must inform the Area Manager of the nature of problem and the decisions taken.
• Make normal management decisions with respect to production and human resource issues.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Min – Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical)
Ideal – Additional business qualification
Legal:Registered engineer
Training: Min – 3-6 months on the job training
Ideal – 6-9 months on the job training
Experience: 2-3 Years as a Packaging or Brewing & Utilities Engineer
IDEAL PROFILES
• Qualified Engineer
• Prior experience in a FMCG environment
• Good knowledge of modern Asset care principles

• Manage Asset care strategy
• Manage systems and controls by optimising and monitoring changes
• Ensure a safe environment
• Ensure all legal requirements for the brewery are up to date.
• To manage all Capex projects related to brewery
