Super Eagles winger, Nnamdi Oduamadi has finally recovered from the injury that abbreviated his 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup outing with Nigeria.
.
Oduamadi was injured during Nigeria's 1-2 defeat to Uruguay on June 20 and failed to recover until Nigeria crashed out of the competition after a 0-3 defeat to world champions, Spain in their last game group game.
.
The Varese winger has now revealed that he is now fit, five days after Nigeria's ouster from the tournament.
.
"What I suffered against Uruguay was not very serious. It was just a minor knock and the coach decided not to risk it against Spain so as not to aggravate it. I am okay now," Oduamadi exclusively told supersport.com.
.
After the underwhelming display at the Confederations Cup, Nigeria's Super Eagles will now set their sights on qualification for the 2014 Fifa World Cup.
.
The race for qualification will resume in September with the African champions facing Malawi for the right to progress to the playoffs.
.
Oduamadi is keen to see Nigeria's flag hoisted in Brazil.
.
"If we avoid defeat in that match (against Malawi), we will qualify for the playoffs.
.
"However, whenever we go into any match, the aim is winning. This will be no different.
.
"As African champions, we should be a part of the World Cup and that is what we are looking to achieve," he concluded.
Oduamadi's injury really changed the team negatively. I'm not too impressed with the way they ended up...too bad.
