Post by: FMINigeria on Jun 28, 2013, 09:01 PM
The Federal Government is out to fight corruption and give effect to the administration's zero tolerance for corruption.

Mr. Mohammed Bello Adoke, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice made this known in Abuja , while presenting his ministry's scorecard during the 2013 Ministerial Platform.

According to him, the Ministry is in the process of finalizing a National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS), to fight corruption in the country, noting that the different anti-corruption agencies in the country are doing a commendable job of fighting corruption, but Nigeria's treaty obligations require her to have a NACS that is holistic and inclusive.

He said that the Ministry has been working assiduously with the Inter-Agency Task Team, civil society and their development partners to articulate a strategy with appropriate action plans for all the agencies involved.

Justice Bello Adoke announced that a draft National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) has been articulated and circulated to relevant agencies and the civil society for their comments and inputs to ensure the necessary buy-in to the process.

"The Ministry", he said, "will organize a stakeholder validation workshop on the 18th of July,2013, and after that the NACS will be finalized and sent to the Federal Executive Council for approval as a policy document'', the Minister said.
