Since this is CG and we are just starting i think it is still open to every aspect of Computer Graphics and digital art.

The only visible problem is that the maximum upload size is 20kb which is too small.

Am not a Big Fan of CG but i love Creativity....Does anyone know abt Raytracing??   If not, I would expalin latter. but the main tin i like about this pix is that It is the result of about 800 lines of Codes....This  is basically C programming CG design. Its really Cool.

I would like to hear your ideas or opinions to create better and more photogenic CG.[

No contribution is too little to be appreciated!

No ideas is too shallow to changes lives!

Everyone is indeed appreciated!

Lets keep the spirit of creativity flowing!

Meanwhile, let us adapt to the maximum upload size for now. This can be increased as events unfold further. Please note that when you click on the image, it enlarges.

Once more, everyone is appreciated! Lets keep it up!

Nice, but d 20kb is very small cuz my works are kind of heavy. Over compression dey spoil the quality.

It is ok. Lets us adapt with size for now.

Meanwhile, I have an assignment for the participants here:

The assignment is all about Image Collage.

Specification:  width 800 px; height 700 px; resolution 72 px/inch
Tool: Adobe PhotoShop

You should utilize minimum four different images. Copyright has to be intact. The images should reflects Nigerian culture.

Exhibit your skills in Creative Designs!

NB: You can look at this link for your reference: Collage Examples (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collage)

Hello All,

While awaiting more information about "Raytracing" as promised by salalite, I have the submission in reply to last assignment. I cannot classify myself to belong to class of CG Gurus but I cherished what is called "Creativity". I have been challenged and prompted to use my liitle skills in Graphic design to come up with this tagged "My Culture Collage"

I welcome constructive criticism and anyone that can analyse the collage for me. How many pictures makes up the collage?

Until I hear from the house!

Analysis of Culture Collage:

My Culture Collage was as a result of four different pictures from four different location in Nigeria; namely Olumo Rock in Ogun State, Riyom Rock  in Plateau State, Akwa Ibom Plaza in Akwa Ibom State and Land of White Water. All the pictures are blended together to make a town.

It is hard to believe!

I sincerely apologize for the delay in explaining Raytracing. Academics frivolities wouldn't let me be.
Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org) defines Raytracing as a technique for generating an image by tracing the path of light through pixels in an image plane.

A simple way to describe it is that a sphere is defined randomly or manually in a plane,2 dimensional to start with. And you shoot rays on the entire pixel of the plane, that is an area of HEIGHT * WIDTH of the plane. Then you check for intersection between the rays and sphere.
Calculating the intersections is pure mathematics. The fun part 4 starters is to choose what what the sphere would look like if an intersection exist and otherwise. Click here (http://www.cc.puv.fi/~e0800812/Ray.txt) to see what it looks like but you have to zoom in to the extent that the width of the image can be seen (I apologize for the extra work).

It is mainly implemented in C and C++ languages but I hope the laymen can get the scope from my brief explanation.

It's also the concept behind light & shape rendering, shadow effects and lots of other optical effects. Therefore, the knowledge of Raytracing is quite vital when designing applications including games that have visual effects.

A physical illustration of Raytracing can be found here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Recursive_raytrace_of_a_sphere.png) and its pictorial algorithm here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ray_trace_diagram.svg).

If you are programmer and would like to see the source code for my Way-Ray image, send me a message. Am also a beginner in Raytracing but I can give you the basics needed for it.

Keep the Flag of Creativity and Nigeria flying and don't forget to STAY INFORMED!!!

Welcome back Emmakc!

This is quite innovative! Appreciating nature via creative design. Good thinking... positive outcome...

In my own translation: The image reflects that of tortoise moving round the globe or earth... or what is the concept to you?

Meanwhile, can we have a corporate logo for InfoStrides Forum? Putting into consideration the whole concepts.

Keep up the good work! It showcases your ingenuity...

Yes I know! But also remember this forum is for all of us. We tend to benefit much from it in the nearest future. While showcasing your ingenuity, you are equally marketing yourself to the world.

I am doing my best to promote the forum, so that members' products and services can be promoted in return. I equally advise members to promote it, together we can create freedom through information sharing.

Note that you are part of the beginning and only the ends justify the means. Anyway, we will still talk on phone one of these days to know each other better. Your contributions so far is valued.

Comments on the logo:

Good job! Emmakc. Simple and corporate! The concept is very nice.

Meanwhile, the name is *InfoStrides Forum*

Considering the layout of the website. Will it not be nice, if the logo and text align horizontally? Is it possible to have animated logo while the remain static or animated?

Please also note the size:
    Width: 300px
    Height: 50 or 51px
Format: PNG

I have attached size sample.

Thank you.
