ADO Den Haag coach Maurice Steijn has revealed Super Eagles defender,Kenneth Omeruo will start preseason with Chelsea.

The Nigerian spent last season on-loan with the Eredivisie club.

"Kenneth is preparing to join Chelsea," revealed Steijn. "He only starts on July 24 in London and when he has been training two or three weeks, our competition has already started',he told Dutch football magazine,Voetbal.

One of Omeruo's representatives also confirmed to mtnfootball that the player is London bound towards the end of the month.

"An agreement has been reached for Kenneth to join Chelsea for pre-season training on July 25," the football only website quoted an unnamed representative of Omeruo as saying.

"His travel papers are now being processed and he will join the club in time for preparations for the new season."

Comebacking Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has already reportedly expressed his admiration for the highly-promising Eagles defender after he watched him in action at the recent AFCON in South Africa.

In a related development, Omeruo has also revealed that he will avoid surgery on a dislocated shoulder to take part in pre-season training with Chelsea.

Omeruo suffered the injury during Nigeria's 3-0 defeat to Spain at the Confederations Cup, but the defender has insisted that he wants the opportunity to impress Mourinho.

"I had the option of surgery, which would keep me out for three months, or to just rest it. I decided I would rest it.

"I want to be part of the pre-season with Chelsea, and I hope that I can do well enough to stay there and not go out on loan again.I'm sure he will be looking at all of his options now, and if I work hard enough, I can make it hard for him',according to kickoffnigeria.com.
