House of Representatives, yesterday, passed a resolution to investigate the alteration of the Armed Forces Act through the revision of the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, LFN, 2004.

The resolution was passed based on a motion presented by Mr. Ibrahim El-Sudi in which he drew the attention of the lawmakers to the alteration of the Armed Forces Act through the revision of LFN 2004.

Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha, who presided over yesterday's session, mandated the Committee on Justice to investigate the usurpation of the constitutional powers of the National Assembly and report back in four weeks.

He expressed worry that in the updated revised edition of the LFN 2004, published in 2011, the Armed Forces Act CAP. A20 was amended in Section 18(1).
