Super Eagles goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi has given strong hint of a goal feast in the side African Nations Cup (CHAN) qualifying match against the Elephants of the Ivory Coast on Saturday at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
.
The Eagles will engage fellow West African foes in a two-legged qualifying match to decide who pick the spot for the Chan coming up next year in South Africa.
.
Akpeyi said his teammates want to win the encounter with a wide margin of goals to make the fortnight reverse fixture in Abidjan, Ivory Coast a mere formality.
.
"We're not just thinking of victory but a convincing one that will make the decisive leg in Abidjan very easy.
.
"We appreciate the importance the nation attaches to the match as well as the ticket to the Chan finals in South Africa more so as we're yet to qualify to play in the competition for the first time.
.
"We're not going to leave anything to chance but go all out to win knowing full well that it will be another keg of water when we visit for the return leg.
.
"The Ivory Coast have always been tough opponents and I'm convinced they'll be coming with some tinge of revenge following their defeat at the 2013 Afcon game in South Africa.
.
"So we're gearing up for the toughest game of our lives, I'm impressed with the attitude and enthusiasm shown by my colleagues towards the game coupled with the quality of players assembled for the crunch game we'll be able to scale the Ivorians hurdle.
.
"The competition among the players for a place in the final squad is very stiff and healthy, I'm confident whoever that gets the nod to start will surely do a perfect job on matchday," said the Heartland goalkeeper.
.
The Super Eagles and their coaching crew are expected to relocate to the match venue on Wednesday from Abuja where they have been fine- tuning strategies for the grudge game.
