Title: University Librarian Job at the University of Calabar

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of the University Librarian in the University of Calabar.

Job Title: University Librarian

QUALIFICATION & RESPONSIBILITIES

•   The candidate should have good honours degree and higher degrees MLS, Ph.D in Library and Information Science.
•   He/She should possess at least 15 years post-qualification cognate experience in a Library of an academic institution and must have served as Head of several major Divisions in such a Library.
•   He/She should also be conversant with modern trends in Library Automation.
•   A significant number of publications in national and international reputable journals showing evidence of active research will be an added advantage.
•   The Librarian is a Principal Officer in charge of Library affairs and responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration of the University Library.
•   The candidate should be a Chartered Librarian of the Professional Association.

SALARY: As presently applicable to Librarians in the Nigerian University System

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE: These are as currently in force in all Nigerian Universities and as approved from time to time by the Governing Council of the University.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Interested applicant should submit 20 copies of his/her application with detailed Curriculum Vitae giving full details about him/herself. Each of the 20 copies of the application should carry with it photocopies (NOT ORIGINALS) of credentials.
