The Jigawa State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service has arrested over 500 illegal Immigrants in the State.
The State Controller of Immigration Service, Malam Abubakar Aliyu Bamalli, said that the Command has embarked on a mass raid covering the 27 Local government areas with view to fishing out illegal immigrants who are living in the State without permit.
He further stated that most of those people come to our country to perpetuate crimes. Thirteen local governments will be covered within five days before they will go on Ramadan fasting.
Malam Abubakar Aliyu Bamalli also disclosed that forces within the State are beginning to undermine their efforts through political pressure, but he said this will not deter him as he has already commenced the repatriation of some of the arrested migrants to Niger Republic after being duly documented through a bio-metric data capturing system.
He thanked the Jigawa State Government for providing them with five new Hilux utility vans for the smooth conduct of the operation.
