Our client: Adexen Recruitment Agency is mandated by a leading FMCG Company to recruit a Chief Operating Officer – Mass Markets for its operations in Nigeria.
Job description:
• The COO is responsible for growing the division nationally and to ensure that the businesses being managed are profitable ventures and that the owned brand(s) is more efficient and adequately focused on customer satisfaction and quality products.
• The role is based in Lagos, Nigeria
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
• Develop strategic directions for the businesses in your division
• Develop and manage operational matrix for monitoring the success of your division's businesses
• Be aware of market trends regarding competition, products and customer requirements – action as require
• Develop new countries and locations or sites as revenue streams towards a global coverage
• Ensure that the business operates at the strategically accepted Gross Profit % level
• Control average operating costs across the division's businesses such that the business operates effectively, whilst complying with quality and service levels required by the company
• Determine the strategic direction for operations through the development and regular monitoring of a strategic plan
• Ensure that the reporting deadlines are met
• Ensure that all internal controls are applied by examining company's and Internal Audit Compliance Reports, following up on any recommendations as well as by your own observations.
• Ensure compliance to local or territorial government minimum expectations and regulations
• Review historic and projected cash flows from an operational and capex point of view
• Communicate projected capital funding requirements to company's on a quarterly basis
• Determine the ongoing requirements regarding the repair and replacement of fixed assets
• Ensure that a proper organizational structure is in place for operations, management and finance as laid out in the Business process Manual or approved Business Plan/Strategy
Qualifications & experience:
• B.Sc. from a recognised institution (Masters is an added advantage)
• Minimum of 15years of professional experience in the food industry with a minimum of 6 years in the quick service restaurant or food industry
• Ability to work with all levels of management, build partnerships and teams
• Experienced in managing a profitable and global mass market, bakery or consumer brand
• Familiar with the Food Industry Trends
• Excellent Planning, Scheduling, Controlling & Coordinating
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to define problems, collect data for resolution
• Proficiency in Ms office solutions
• Must possess excellent organizational, project management and communication skills
• Top notch negotiation skills and results Driven
• Willingness to travel and work in a global team
