Former Super Eagles coach, Adegboye Onigbinde, believes that the senior national team coach Stephen Keshi will have good replacements for any player that will be unavailable for the return leg of the 2014 African Nations Championship qualifier in Abidjan.
.
Eagles forward Gambo Mohammed has penned a three-year deal with Tunisian side, Club Africain and is effectively ruled out of the game against the Elephants on July 27 as he has joined the legion of Nigeria's foreign-based players who play outside the shores of their country.
.
However, Onigbinde in a chat with Complete Sports is of the opinion that the coaching crew cannot complain about the circumstances that is playing out with regard to the careers of the home-based Eagles players.
.
"The players want an upgrade in their careers just like any other person in other jobs and so you cannot begrudge them for wanting to become foreign based players where they will earn even more pay week-in- week-out and improve their games."
.
"The coaches have a duty to discover more players in the domestic league and give more opportunities to some of the finest players that have not been given any chance yet."
.
"The absence of one or two players should not deter the team and irrespective of any of them who will miss the return leg of the CHAN quallifier, I don't expect the Eagles to lose out on aggregate scores."
I agree with him on this one. They proved that to us when they played against Ivory Coast few days ago. Good one.
