Embattled judge of the Federal High Court, in Lagos, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, has been dragged before a Lagos High Court in Igbosere, over alleged abuse of judicial power.

The lawyer, John William Dong, is claiming N5 million as damages against Justice Ofili Ajumogobia for ordering his arrest and detention for four hours without any charge or trial.

Joined as respondent in the suit, is the Superintendent of Prisons in charge of Federal High Court, FHC, Prisons Cell.

Dong is praying the court to declare that his arrest and detention without a charge or trial were extra-judicial, arbitrary, unlawful and amount to infringement of his rights to dignity of human person and personal liberty guaranteed by the Constitution.
Abuse of power is always happening in this country because our leaders tend to get very selfish at times....That really has to change for Nigeria to be a better place.
