Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins is nursing a calf injury and as such did not feature for Seattle Sounders against San Jose Earthquakes.

'Obagoal' suffered a calf injury in the game against Vancouver and so was ruled out of the weekend game.

The former Levante of Spain striker has been unlucky with injuries since he joined the Major League Soccer (MLS) side.

"Oba still hasn't recovered from the kick he took in the calf in the Vancouver game," disclosed Seattle coach Sigi Schmid.

Martins was picked for the MLS Team of Week 20 following his brace against DC United.

He has scored seven goals since he joined Seattle Sounders.

Obafemi Martins should just consider retirement once and for all because he is getting too old for football. I support his retirement.
