Job Title: Senior Human Resources Executive

Reports to: Assistant Manager, Human Resources

Our client, an International IT and Outsourcing firm is looking for a Senior Executive / Executive, Human Resources with the following details:

QUALIFICATIONS: HND or First Degree in Social Sciences or Arts (Masters in any area or a Professional Membership will be an added advantage but not mandatory)

REQUIREMENTS: 2 years experience in a front ending HR role preferably in a medium sized Organization. Hands on exposure in setting up Employee communication forums and initiates for Employee motivation, development & engagement in a unionized scenario with good understanding of the statutory compliance requirements and local Labour law and exposure to Collective Bargaining Agreements etc preferred. Exposure to handling payroll added advantage.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Expected candidate is required to have good communication, people orientation, conflict management and interpersonal skills in addition to the above requirements. Fluency in Yoruba and Pidgin with at least working knowledge of Hausa and / or Ibo would be of added advantage

DUTIES: Advising Management on issues relating to employment, employee relations, engagement, Fun Activities, staff welfare, and other areas of responsibility as may be given from time to time.

As an HR Senior Executive your duties will extend to:

• Assisting the Operations Team with the day to day management of the teams in

• Act as a single point of contact for the associates for HR related requirements and queries

• Implement various employee engagement initiatives within the office's under scope .

• Ensure adequate communication with associates to ensure adherence to HR policies and processes

• Facilitating employee communication within the office's under scope

• Facilitating employee development, motivation, engagement and retention along with Operations through initiatives aimed at improving communication within teams, fun at work, celebrating achievements etc.

• Facilitating recognition of employees in line with the Company's reward program. Manage rewards & recognition at the centre, which includes, sourcing nominations, running a transparent winner selection process, in-time and as per budget rewards distribution within the centre and maintain required data related to rewards.

• Provide feedback to the Asst Manager, HR on any outstanding issues.

• Co-ordination with other departments for effective and efficient handling of any of the above activities.

Identified person will also collate and produce the following information:

•   Monthly payroll report

•   Monthly preparation and distribution of the headcount report

•   Any other specific information asked for by other support functions from time to time

• You will also work in conjunction with the Recruitment team to prepare and issue any Internal / External Job Postings and where required support the actual interview process with direct participation with interviews/short listing etc.  – Process the fixed term contract extensions for Tech M staff – Update the information on the HR system (EBS) in regards to :

• New hires

• Leavers incl. separation action

• Changes – You will host the HR induction / Empl. No. generation for new staff – Maintain and follow HR policies and processes in line with ISO audit requirements – Manage and distribute employee communications as required – Maintain Personnel Files / Relevant HR statutory report and documentation

• Act as point of contact for:

• Appraisal process

• Leave management process

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•   The primary challenge in this position will arise in taking decisions where the correctness may not be evident immediately. Therefore exercise of sound judgment in taking such decisions is critical especially in terms of staff issues.

•   The position will be responsible for setting and delivering HR objectives which are within the strategy & business plans of the company.

•   Ensures that all employees are provided equal opportunity, fair and consistent application of policy, regardless of nationality or citizenship.

•   Responsible for management of all staff members including unions, worker representatives & collective bargaining bodies.

•   Responsible to maintain key contacts with employer associations & labour ministry officials

•   Recommends solutions and advises management on significant employee relations matters.
