Title: Ministries Stink With Corruption – Borofice
Post by: Shola Sholaz on Jul 16, 2013, 01:14 PM
Chairman, Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Senator Robert Borofice, ACN, Ondo North, yesterday, accused ministries and agencies of government of malignant corruption, regretting that the development had drastically stalled Nigeria's socio-economic progress.
.
He said in spite of Federal Government's so-called crusade against the scourge, operators of government ministries and parastatals were still neck deep in malignant corruption.
.
Senator Borofice, who said this yesterday while fielding questions from newsmen in Abuja, particularly gave an instance of how Ministry of Science and Technology budgeted a N896 million to supervise a N50 million project of an agency under the ministry, specialised in making solar panel, in the 2013 budget.
.
Borofice refuted the claim of the executive that National Assembly made deep cuts in capital projects funds in the 2013 budget, adding that his committee, however, cut the bogus allocation the ministry made for the said project supervision.

Corruption is just something we have to deal with for Nigeria to be a better place. It's becoming a part of Nigeria and it's very bad.
