The people of Osogbo are set to host the world again in August as preparation for this year's Osun Osogbo festival has begun in earnest.

Speaking with journalists in Lagos during the week, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, Laroye I1, dis-closed that there will be series of side attractions during the festival, and that tourists and visitors will be entertained and exposed to the rich cultural heritage of his people.

While thanking the corporate sponsors for their supports over the years, the traditional ruler said the festival will commence August 12 with the customarily clearing of traditional paths to the Osun Grove and will reach a crescendo with the departure of the votary maid — Arugba-Osun – from the shrine with a calabash on August 23.

Speaking earlier, Chief Popo Bolarinwa said the desire of the people of Osogbo is to keep the festival in the front burner as a leading cultural festival in the world.
