Heartland captain, Chinedu Efugh has said his side's victory against Warri Wolves in the Glo Premier League Matchday 22 duel at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri will relax frayed nerves following the side no win in five past matches.

Ebere Odiche scored the match winner in the 18th minute to ensure the side grabbed the maximum points and four points off Warri Wolves in the ongoing season.

The victory has taken the Naze Millionaires total points to 31 from a possible 66.

Efugh who admitted pressure even though the game was played behind closed doors said the win has ended the side's several weeks in search of points.

"Of course, the victory will definitely ease off pressure and tension on us as we continue on our subsequent matches.

"Even though the game was played behind closed door but you could still feel the thickness of the tension outside the pitch and among the supporters which relaxed immediately the match report went out.

"Warri Wolves came to win or at least salvage a point as we did at their place but we just realised the danger of losing another game and that turned things around for the better for us.

"I think everybody is happy with today's (Sunday) victory and I believe the long wait for points has ended henceforth we'll start picking points as usual," said the former Enugu Rangers centre-back to supersport.com.

Efugh said he will greatly miss his assistant, Emmanuel Olowo who has headed to the Akure- based side, Sunshine Stars.

"I'm already missing his absence same as the entire team, he assisted me for four seasons.

"He's a cool guy on and off the pitch and a straight- forward and strong pillar at the back. I'll surely miss him, I only wish him good luck at his new place," Efugh said.

Heartland will face Sharks in the Federation Cup round of 16 in Benin City on Wednesday and Efugh said his side are determined to go beyond the challenge of the Blue Angels.

"This is Federation Cup you don't have to boast or underrate the opponents, we're the title holders we're going to Benin City to win," the Heartland strongman enthused.
Well if that's the way things are for the football club then they might have no choice but to do that. So I don't really blame them....
