Responsibilities: The Lead Planning Engineer will be responsible will be the subject matter expert responsible for providing analysis and guidance to project teams on all scheduling matters.
In particular,the Lead Planning Engineer's accountabilities include:
• Review,analyze,and validate schedules submitted by EPC Contractors and any other outside parties contributing to the project.
• Development of comprehensive schedules in various formats and details to suit the reporting needs of different stakeholders.
• Perform risk analysis and probabilistic reporting of project schedules.
• Integrate the project schedule with the project budget liaising with the Senior Cost Engineer.
• Active Participation in Technical Bid Evaluations.Review,analyze,and validate schedules submitted by EPC Contractors and any other outside parties contributing to the project.
• Lead subordinate Planning & Scheduling Engineers by coaching,setting,practicing,and expecting from them a high standard of performance and quality assurance.
• Attend management,project team,and customer meetings.
• Forecast impacts to the schedule per proposed changes and claims.
• Coordinate with internal / external specialists and technical staff of adjacent projects that will be constructed at the same time.
• Continuously work as a pro-active agent to improve the profession of Planning & Scheduling in SNEPCo.
Requirements:
• BSc. degree or HND in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying with a minimum of 12 years of project experience in the oil & gas industry
• 15 years of relevant experience as a planning engineer within the oil & gas industry will suffice for the lack of a BSc degree.
• This position requires a mature professional with strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrable hands-on competency in using Primavera P3e or P3 Project Planner, as well as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Proven ability to interface with internal / external specialists, other disciplines, contractor personnel, Company personnel, other Company project teams, and Company operations personnel at the existing facilities.
• Proven experience and ability to effectively monitor EPC progress in a contractor's office.
• Strong communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with contractors and SNEPCo management as necessary.
