The Lagos State House of Assembly has directed the state's Examination Board to produce a three-year-examination analysis on the Junior and Senior Secondary School West African Examination Certificate from 2010 to 2012.
The Chairman, House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wahab Alawiye-King, said the request was necessary in view of reports that there were anomalies in the conducts and the results of the examinations, a statement by the assembly said on Monday.
Alawiye-king said, "Many times, we get reports that have to do with mix-up in students' results – students who do not register for some subjects get results and the ones that registered don't get any. Some of those who wrote the examination said they got 'AB' against their names which means –Absent.'
"The government is very concerned about integrity and this must be adhere to.''
Other lawmakers, including Adebimpe Akinsola, attested to the error.
The Vice Chairman of the committee, Mr. Gbolahan Yishawu, urged that the analysis must be extensive with a view to finding solution to the problem.
However, a representative of the board, Mr. A.O. Hassan, said there had been improvement in the conduct of the examinations.
