In Welterweight Boxing Bout Nigerian boxer Gift Cole
held on to his winning streak of seven when he
defeated Nathan Petty in an Welterweight bout at the
Davis Arena in Louisville in Kentucky on Sunday
night by unanimous decision.

The 29-year dropped Petty in the second and eighth
rounds. The assault never let up and referee Luis
Pabon ended Petty's punishment 2:27 into the 11th.

The Nigerian improved to 8-0 with five knockouts.

Cole landed low jab which got the crowd to their feet
as he dominated Petty in the first three rounds to a
decision win from the three judges who scored him
high after the bout.

The win set the pace for his next title fight coming up
in Atlanta against an unnamed German in October.

He told Complete Sports from his base in Kentucky
that his main focus now is to prepare well for his title
bout so as to actualize his dream as a boxer.

I'm delighted with the win- it's my eight straight win
and I want to focus more on my title fight to hold in
October where my dreams could be realised," he
enthused.
