Title: Ogun State - We Are Doing More Roads In Ogun West-OGSG
Post by: OgunState on Jul 25, 2013, 01:31 AM
The Ogun State Government says the Ogun West Senatorial District is the greatest beneficiary of its current urban renewal programme, particularly in the area of roads construction and expansion. The State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who said this today in Abeokuta while receiving members of the Igbesa and Area Communities Residents Development Association who were on a courtesy visit to his office, pointed out that the current administration had embarked on the longest stretch of road in the area.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, assured that all projects currently embarked on would be completed in record time, adding that it would continue to ensure that no part of the State is marginalized in its rebuilding mission.“Ogun West is home to the longest road we are doing anywhere in Ogun State. I just mentioned the 107 kilometer we are doing from Ilara-Tombolo-Ijoun-Eggua-Oja Odan.

If you add everything in Ogun Central, it is not up to one-quarter of what we are doing in Ogun West. If you now add everything we are doing in Ogun Central with Ogun East, everything is not up to half of what we are doing in Ogun West”, the Governor disclosed. He noted that his administration’s conviction that agriculture was a major catalyst to industrialization explained its huge investment in the development of the rural areas.

The Governor, who commended the association for its various community development efforts, advised it to do more and also challenged other community development associations to support government, saying Government alone could not develop the State.

On the issue of lands encroachment brought before it by the visitors, Governor Amosun condemned the development, restating government’s commitment to tackle the situation headlong. Speaking earlier, the Chairman, the Igbesa and Area Communities Residents Development Association, Chief Ajibola Olagbaye commended the State Government for its various developmental programmes, especially in education and thanked the Governor for the Ilo-Awela-Iganmode road dualization project.
